Entrance examination for overseas students | An applicant must satisfy the requirements in both (1) and (2) below. (* For (2), an applicant must satisfy only one of the requirements in a to e.) (1) Has completed 12 years or more of school education in a country other than Japan. (2) a.Has attained N1 or N2 in the Japanese Language Aptitude Test (former Level 1 or Level 2); b. Has scored 200 points or more in the subject of Japanese as a Foreign Language in the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students; c. Has scored 400 points or more in the BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test; d. Has studied in a certified Japanese language school for six months or longer (only in a certified course) e. Has received education in a Japanese school provided in Article 1 of the School Education Act (excluding kindergartens) for one year or longer. (This includes studying in a special Japanese language course offered by 2-year colleges or universities for one year or longer.) |

①Admission Application Form | Tear off the Admission Application Form for the school of your choice from Admissions Procedures 2022, fill in necessary information on the front page, and write an essay on the back page. (Admissions Procedures 2022 is available on request. We can mail it to overseas addresses.) |
②Photos | 3 photos (3 cm x 3 cm) (Write your name on the back of the photos. Attach one of the photos to the Admission Application Form.) |
③Application Fee | Application fee: 20,000 yen [If you live overseas] Send the application fee from a financial institution in your country to a financial institution designated by the Yamanote Cooking & Confectionery College (check the bank name, account number and other details on page 36 of the Admissions Procedures), make a photocopy of the confirmation of your payment, and submit it together with your Admission Application Form. [If you live in Japan] By mail: Use the fund transfer form on page 36 of the Admissions Procedures to make payment in a financial institution near you. |
④Diploma (original) or graduation certificate (copy) | A diploma or graduation certificate from a high school or university (either in the local language or in English) (This is used as a documentary evidence of the completion of school education for a period of 12 years or longer in a foreign country. It can also be any document that falls under Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Notice No. 153.) * Attach the Japanese translation for a graduation certificate written in a language other than English. |
⑤Documents that certify Japanese language proficiency (all the qualifications/test results you have) |
a. Japanese language aptitude certificate or test results (N1 or N2 (former Level 1 or 2) from the Japanese Language Aptitude Test issued by the Japan Foundation or Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (JEES) b. Results of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (the total score of reading comprehension, listening, and listening and reading comprehension tests in the subject of Japanese as a Foreign Language must be 200 points or greater) issued by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) c. Certificate of results from the BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test (400 points or more) issued by the Japan Kanji Aptitude Testing Foundation d. Graduation certificate (or a certificate of prospective graduation) or academic results (stating the number of days of attendance) issued by a Japanese language school * If you are currently enrolled in or have been enrolled in a Japanese language school, you must submit this document. * This only applies to a certified course for a period of six months or longer at a school certified by the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education. e. Proof that the applicant has received education in a Japanese school provided in Article 1 of the School Education Act (excluding kindergartens) for one year or longer. |
